The history of f.a.x. Translations b.v.
f.a.x. and the past
We can all remember a time when we relied on the trusty old postal service for our international communications. That era came to an end in the middle of the nineteen-eighties with the arrival of the fax machine. It wasn't long before the business community discovered its worth and after that there was no turning back. Not long after that a Danish academic decided after completing work on a new dictionary to establish his own translation agency. Apart from his dictionaries, his only other resource was a fax machine. Deeply impressed by this superb new technology, he decided to name his company after it, and that was the beginning of f.a.x. Translations b.v. The translation agency's motto: Fast, Accurate and eXperienced. Our customers can always count on us to draw on our many years' experience to solve problems fast and accurately.
Fast
When a customer sends a text to us, he can expect to receive an immediate order confirmation, and if he applies for a quotation he will receive it by return. Our huge database of specialised translators means that we can always guarantee fast delivery times. Each customer is assigned a fixed contact person who he can contact for updates on the translation process.
Accurate
If there is anything we're unsure about, the customer can rest assured that we'll contact him before proceeding. An accurate translation stands or falls on a clear understanding of the source text. We at f.a.x Translations b.v. do not resort to guessing the precise meaning. But that doesn't mean that we bother our clients with all sorts of petty details. It is the translator's job to carry out careful research and familiarise himself with the client's organisation, but we will ask questions if any points remain unclear.
eXperienced
Our project coordinators have some 25 deadlines to meet almost each and every day. They also spend part of their day assisting customers with their enquiries, and then there are the translators' questions to deal with... Translators have to feel at home in all markets. They might be specialised in a certain area, but they still need to get acquainted with the customer's culture, style and terminology. Once we have received the translation, the final stage of the translation process begins: revision. A good reviser needs exceptional powers of concentration: the ability to verify down to the smallest detail whether the translation is true to the source text, whether the style is up to the required standard and whether the translation is suitable for its intended purpose. All of our experienced staff members know precisely how to have a translation assignment carried out quickly and accurately.
f.a.x. and the future
While it's true that the fax machine no longer occupies a prominent position in today's business world, f.a.x. Translations b.v. is as enthusiastic and ambitious as ever. Our approach involves working increasingly towards becoming a true partner for all of our customers. Creating ongoing partnership leads to win-win situations for f.a.x. and its customers alike.
